ERfC and Our Mission
ERfC has been working with the Enfield community since 1994, providing innovative services to families and children after school. Our mission is to team with kids, communities, schools and families to grow resilient kids. Through innovative community collaborations, we help kids learn, reach their goals, and contribute to their communities.
Over 450 children in grades K-8 attend out-of-school-time activities during the school year and summer.
ERfC School-Age Centers provide out-of-school time learning opportunities for children. Activities are designed for small group—which give many opportunities for hands-on instruction and learning. By volunteering at one of our Centers, you provide unique new opportunities for
Volunteer opportunities are open to individuals age 16 and over. High school and college students, retirees, professionals, business leaders, and parents are encouraged to apply. Volunteering with ERfC is flexible to work with YOUR schedule. All volunteers are interviewed and a background check is completed. Training and visits to the ERfC School-Age Centers will be arranged.
ERfC participates in the Presidential Call to Service Award Program. Volunteers who donate over 100 hours with ERfC will be eligible to receive an award from the President of the United States.
After School Activities: School Year
Volunteers in our School-Age Centers work with kids in small
group settings as positive role models. Centers operate in five Enfield
schools and service ages K-5 and grades 6-8 students.School-Age Centers operate from 3:00 - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
during the school year.
Volunteer opportunities include: assisting team leaders with homework,
sports & games, science, math, reading, writing, arts, cooking, enrichment
activities, special events, and more. Volunteers are encouraged to share
their interests and experiences in a flexible schedule designed to work for
KidZ Sports: School Year and Summer
KidZ Sports is an
afterschool fitness program that introduces athleticism through creative
play by incorporating a variety of sports and activities that improves
overall conditioning/fitness through dynamic warm – up and conditioning
stations, provides lifelong skills, from dribbling a ball with their hands
or feet to catching, throwing and moving to space. Additionally, it provides
kids the opportunity to gauge individual fitness improvement and learn key
components to teambuilding.
Volunteers assist sports leaders through creative play, using a variety of
sports to build coordination, agility and team dynamics
Summer Escape Day Camp: July & August
ERfC is seeking volunteers for Summer Escape Camp. Summer Escape will
operate from 8:00AM-3PM, Monday through Friday. Students attending grades 1
through 8 in September are divided into teams basedon age and grade.A
structured schedule of activities is provided throughout the day. Volunteers
assist team leaders in a variety of activities, including arts & crafts,
science, sports & games, theatre, and much more.
Volunteer schedules are flexible and can include full day, partial
day, and one to five days per week. Volunteers must be able to commit once a
schedule is established. Summer Escape is located at JFK Middle School, 155
Raffia Road, Enfield.
EHAT- Summer Lunch Bunch: July thru August
The 2016 Summer Lunch Bunch will open from July 5
throught August 19. Volunteers are need to help distribute
box lunches to kids and run activities from 11AM until 1PM, Monday through
