About ERfC Collaborations and
Partnerships
Educational Resources for
Children, Inc., (ERfC) is successful in building a number of active
collaborations. Over the past eleven
years, individuals, businesses, and community organizations from Enfield and the
surrounding communities, have provided support for the development and
implementation of after-school activities.
These collaborations make it possible for ERfC to offer after-school programming
to families on a sliding fee schedule.
Many children also receive scholarships to attend ERfC Learning
Centers. Community support not only
provides a safe place for children after school—but enables ERfC to offer a
variety of academic, enrichment and recreational activities for Enfield children.
Partnerships Offer Academic and Learning opportunities
ERfC Learning Centers are
successful because of the number of individuals who commit to working with
staff and volunteers to develop academic programs that expose our children to
many different opportunities—including hands on science, math games, and
electronics. Others provide enrichment
opportunities in art and music— as well as physical activities in martial arts
and basketball. Businesses sponsor
speakers to help with life skills and still others host family holiday programs.
Tutoring and Mentoring Opportunities Available
Many partners also provide
financial support for academic and enrichment programs, field trips, and
special family activities. Businesses
support ERfC by providing early release time for their employees so they can
tutor in homework and mentor in activities— while others provide daily snacks
and drinks, summer lunches, and monthly dinners for our Family Night
activities.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Community members also have
opportunities to support ERfC fundraising efforts to help scholarship children
who attend our programs. ERfC holds an
annual Golf Tournament and a Tennis Tournament every other year. There are many opportunities to collaborate
throughout the year on various fundraisers.
Many organizations and businesses hold fundraising events to help supply
items on our Wish List or to provide
financial resources to purchase necessary program supplies.
New Program Opportunities for Children Each Year
ERfC is committed to
providing learning opportunities for Enfield
children. With the help of individuals, community
organizations, churches, community service groups, and businesses— more
children each year will learn to dance, play musical instruments, sing, participate
in team sports, and understand the valuable history of their community. With the continued help and support of our dedicated
partners, new opportunities are added each year. Children in the school-year
and summer Learning Centers will explore science, participate in exercise and
nutrition activities, develop life skills, and learn about the dangers of drug,
alcohol, tobacco and gang activities.
