Educational Resources for Children, Inc. (ERfC) is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1994 to provide quality after school programs for children in Enfield, CT.

Readers are Leaders Club

The Readers Are Leaders Club is designed for students in grade 1 through 3 to practice literacy skills after school. Emphasizes phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency and vocabulary and includes a parent component. Six students in each group. All curriculum and evaluation materials provided.

 

Days: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

 

1 Position at Barnard School  (3:30 – 5:00 PM)

2 Positions at Alcorn School   (3:30 – 5:00 PM)

1 Position at Alcorn School    (4:00PM – 6:00 PM)

Punch & Cookies Read Aloud Program

(Formerly known as Partners in Print)

Punch & Cookies, for children ages 5 through 8, provides a supportive environment where parents can discover how to help their children learn to read—cover to cover.  Parents (or a designated adult) attend with their child. Each new session has new parents and students. Teachers demonstrate proper reading techniques and strategies.  Books and curriculum provided.

 

Two-Six week sessions at  Barnard School

Time:  4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

 

Session 2:  1/20/2010, 1/27/2010, 2/3/2010, 2/10/2010, 2/17/2010, 2/24/2010

Session 3:  3/10/2010, 3/17/2010, 3/24/2010, 3/31/2010, 4/7/2010, 4/14/2010

Job Requirements

·         Certified teachers or other trained professionals in reading, literacy, and language arts. 

·         Must have experience working with elementary children

Salary:  Certified teachers--$18.00 per hour; other trained professionals— $12.50 per hour
